The ITO Contract Manager will be part of the Regional Contract Management team with a specific focus on tendering support.
Reporting in a solid line to the Grid Solutions Regional Contract Management Leader and in dotted line to the Proposal Manager, and in strict cooperation with the Proposal Team and Legal, you will support the preparation and submission of proposals (RFI, , ITT, RFP etc.).
This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.
The ITO (Inquiry to Order) Contract Manager brings to the Proposal Team expertise related to those terms and conditions contained in the tender documents that can have an operational, commercial and/or administrative impact on the application, management and execution of the contract and is also based on operational return of experience.
The ITO Contract Manager will therefore focus on those aspects in which operational contract management experience has most impact.
Job Description
Main Duties
In cooperation with the Proposal Team and Legal, review the operational topics such as:
- Claim and Change Order process, including notice requirements;
- Contractor entitlements and remedies;
- Customer obligations and deliverables;
- Proposed allocation of risk;
- Requirements for Take-over, Provisional Acceptance;
- Contractor documentation approval;
- Site accesses and conditions;
- Permitting requirements;
- other “operational topics”.
- Identifying and communicating deviations to GE guidelines.
- Propose relevant amendments where required.
- Support the Proposal Team in the negotiation of the operational topics of tenders for clients and major subcontractors for new business initiatives, including partnership agreements (Consortium, Joint Venture).
- Assure consistency between the proposals and the Employer’s requirements. Specifically, assure that the exceptions and deviations agreed with Employers are correctly incorporated in final set of contract documents.
- In accordance with GE processes supports procurement/sourcing in the formation of construction and installation site subcontracts ensuring that relevant terms and conditions of the main contract are incorporated into the subcontract agreements
- In case of award of the Project, proactively participate to the handover process from Sales to Execution teams (ITO to OTR).
- Support in the negotiation and formation of Consortium Agreements in accordance with GE’s processes.
Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience/track record in contract drafting and negotiation (EPC contracts, partnership agreements, subcontract and supply agreements).
- Knowledge and experience in main contract models (FIDIC and NEC form of contract)
- Understanding of contract law
- Understanding of Project risk management
- Technical understanding
- Experience in high-level negotiations
- Extensive years’ of experience in contract lifecycle management of complex infrastructure projects (power generation and power transmission preferred).
Personal Skills and background
- Exceptional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capacity to prioritise work and interface with relevant stakeholders for the collection of information.
- Influencing skills, intercultural skills, capable of working in a team.
- University degree in engineering, business administration or law.
- Accountability and say / do mindset.
- Perfect knowledge of written and spoken English.
