WSP has a large, highly experienced and professional Ecology team who get involved with a diverse range of interesting projects across a number of sectors within the UK for both private and public sector clients. Our work in ecology spans terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecology, arboriculture and forestry, biodiversity net gain, ecosystem services and natural capital assessment. The team pride themselves on the integrated support offered by working alongside our in-house water, landscape, arboriculture, air quality and sustainability specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative and integrated solutions.

We are looking to appoint Seasonal Ecologists (including specialist aquatic ecologists) into various office locations (including, Reading, Cambridge, Basingstoke and Guildford) to support project delivery in 2024. Typically, these are full time posts, for a duration of six months. These posts represent fantastic opportunities for fresh or recent graduates or MSc graduates in ecology and related subjects to get their first career job. Our team is large (ca. 275 ecologists across the UK) but also incredibly friendly and supportive with a wealth of knowledge and experience to help you start your ecology journey in the right way.

We offer a highly competitive salary and in 2023, we were able to offer more than 75% of seasonal ecologists a permanent role after their initial contract.
