About Our Client
My client are a leading Kent based logistics and distribution business. They are a business with a great family feel, who are looking to appoint a Head of Finance who can bridge the gap between the board and the day to day operations.
Job Description
As Head of Finance you will be responsible for overseeing the successful and accurate operation of the finance department, in order to provide insight and commentary to the board as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team
Specifically you will manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual accounts process through a team of 6-7 staff who cover:
- Monthly management accounting
- Cash Flow Forecasts
- Credit Management
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Variance Analysis
- VAT Returns
To be successful in the role you will work closely with the board and other members of the SLT, and will look to provide a blend of accuracy and insight, but in an expedient and practical manner.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for this role will be
- Formally Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), although Qualified by experience with relevant industry sector experience will be considered - supply chain, logistics, distribution.
- Be aware of the nuances of the logistics and distribution market and the costs and pressures which affect it
- Ideally have had some experience in transport, logistics, fleet, distribution, 3PL type environments
- Able to speak openly and honestly with all members of the workforce, from shop floor to board level.
- Able to influence strategy
- Capable of and experienced in liaising with the board, external auditors and other third parties
- Able to role your sleeves up and get involved in areas beyond the remit of just finance.
