Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Sutherland, Scotland

- Are you a mixed vet looking for a new opportunity in Scotland?
We are recruiting on behalf of a mixed animal practice in Sutherland, Scotland for a Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time role for 40 hours per week over 5 days, along with 1 in 5 weekends on-call with a day off in lieu. There will also be 1 night on-call per week. There is a bonus scheme in place for any call-outs.
- Type: Mixed animal, 60% small animal, 40% farm animal
- Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week over 5 days
- Computer system: Merlin
- Consultations: 20 minutes
- Team: Large veterinary team
The role
- The role has 1 or 2 days of surgeries and then the rest of the week is then split between consultations and farm animal work.
- Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
- The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
- The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

- Rural mixed animal practice with an average split of 60% small animal and 40% farm animal comprising of beef and sheep
- The practice have a large amount of crofting clients
- Small animal work involves pets, working dogs and local wildlife.
- The practice is fully equipped offering a wide range of diagnostics and veterinary services including an in house lab, ultrasound, dental and digital x-ray.
- They have a great local reputation and pride themselves on the communication in terms of client care that they provide.
- They have a team of 5 Vets and 4 Nurses along with a non-clinical support team.
- They are offering a great change of pace and lifestyle by working in the Highlands. There is plenty of outdoor activities on the doorstep along with amazing views.
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you

- The Vet will be confident in routine surgeries and have a good amount of experience with farm animals. The Vet will also be happy to join the on call rota.
- The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
- The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients.

- Salary: Up to £63,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
