Sounds great! What will I be doing?
A Product Manager sits at the intersection of the business, the tech teams and user experience.
We’re looking for a Product Manager to support our ‘durable teams.’ We’re on a mission to deliver new value to our players every single day and the right Product Managers will be key in helping us get there!
As a Product Manager you will become an expert in your product area within the business rapidly building trust and respect among stakeholders and the wider business.
You will work with a team of software developers, designers, and stakeholders in the business to maximise progress towards your team’s goal by choosing the right problems to solve and picking the solutions that are the quickest to deliver value to our users.
Whilst making these big calls you’ve also got the tricky task of balancing the competing demands of stakeholders and maintaining alignment around your team’s mission and wider business goals.
Like any manager you will be responsible for setting the objectives of a cross disciplined team, identifying and organising the resources required to achieve those objectives and monitoring the teams progress and performance against them.
What does "good" look like for us?
We want someone who is intelligent, filled with energy and acts with integrity. Someone who puts the customer above all else and doesn’t need convincing of the benefits of doing so!
The ideal candidate.......
Has experience with design thinking and gets lean product development – you must bring your curiosity, empathy, and imagination to work with you every day.
Embraces the unknown (Agile) - You know what you want to achieve but through rounds of iteration and pivots the journey might be quite different to any you imagined…and you’re fine with that.
Values outcomes over output – we don’t care how many new features we ship, we only care about the impact they have.
That values insights – someone whose opinion and approach changes to match the facts rather than someone who finds the facts to fit their existing beliefs.
Values getting stuff done over processes – you continually assess processes and are ruthless about killing off anything that don’t deliver value and optimizing the things that do.
Skilled at influencing without authority – product managers need to be trusted and respected. You don’t have direct reports instead you manage up aligning stakeholders right up the hierarchy to the top.
Is a master of prioritization – how do you know what to do next. No one is going to tell you here; you need to know what to do. You need to be able to explain why that’s the right call and bring your stakeholders with you.
Is hungry to progress – being a product manager is about leading the company to serve customers' needs better. If you can do that with no authority, what would you do with authority – you should know what job you want and what you’d do if you had it. We will help you get there.
Is the sort of person people love to be around – not just because you’re brilliant but because you’re fun, friendly and trustworthy. You can tell a great story and you’re a great listener. It’s important because you’re going to be working with a very diverse bunch of folks. From software developers to graphic designers, customer service agents to marketers and customers to regulators.
Is comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment – you can spin plates and work across multiple products and projects concurrently.
On top of that any experience working within a technology company, a gambling company and/or a tightly regulated industry would be a bonus for us, but you shouldn’t be put off from applying if you haven’t. We try not to think like our competitors so we’re happy not hiring like our competitors.
