Job description

We have an exciting opportunity within the Property and Construction division where you’ll carry out inspections, monitoring and enforce all street works and events on the highway through effective communication and the use of specialist software; to ensure that these works are completed to the required specification and are undertaken safely with minimum disruption to highway users and the local community as well as protecting the council’s investment/assets/highway infrastructure.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring he Council fulfils its statutory duties and obligations imposed by the New Road and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991, the Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004, the Highways Act 1980 and the East of England Permit Scheme (EEPS).

About you
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable site supervisory experience within a highway environment.

You will have the ability to investigate situations to establish facts and circumstances, collate, analyse information and data to draft factual reports and letters

You must have demonstrable keyboard skills, with the ability to use Word and Excel or equivalent.

It’s important that you have demonstrable knowledge of the New Road and Street Works Act, the Traffic Management Act 2004, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, CDM Regulations and Health and Safety Legislation.

You must hold or are able to obtain NRSWA accreditation (within 2 months of starting position)

You’ll have the ability to travel efficiently to sites around the Borough on a daily basis in order to carry out site inspections for compliance.
