Job description
As a Pediatric Rheumatologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing the care of children and adolescents with autoimmune disorders, musculoskeletal diseases, and other disorders of the immune system. This position offers the unique opportunity to impact young lives by providing specialised and compassionate care, working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for our young patients.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough medical examinations, with a focus on rheumatic diseases in children.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine, adjusting as necessary in response to patient progress.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to provide holistic care.
- Engage in ongoing communication with patients' families, offering detailed explanations of conditions, treatment plans, and progress, as well as providing emotional support.
- Stay abreast of the latest in pediatric rheumatology research and advancements to continually enhance patient care.
- Participate in the training and mentorship of junior doctors and medical students.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, followed by specialised training in Pediatric Rheumatology.
- Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) is essential.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years in pediatric rheumatology or a closely related field is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children and their families.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in conducting research and the desire to contribute to the field of pediatric rheumatology.
- Demonstrated ability in working within a multidisciplinary team.
