Position Information Fort Street High School is an academically selective high school with a long history of providing education for high potential and gifted students. The school is located in Petersham and has an enrolment of 913 students of whom 75% come from language backgrounds other than English. Fortians are encouraged to be self-directed, independent learners and critically thinking young adults who contribute to society in the context of a highly developed social conscience. The school provides a wide range of co-curricular programs which enhance the learning of Fortians. The school is supported by a diverse and highly engaged parent and carer community.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Visual Arts (7-12) and Approval to teach Photography and Digital Media (7-10)

Demonstrated quality teaching practice and the ability to work as a collaborative faculty member to achieve outstanding outcomes for students with diverse educational needs

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the faculty and wider school community to accommodate the provision of a wide range of co-curricular activities

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
