More detail about the role: Here at the Community Phlebotomy service, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop new skills and is passionate about delivering excellent patient care. This is an exciting fixed term (24months) post that will support the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust with the Grail Bio- sampling Pilot. A Cancer Blood Test, the Galleri test, is being assessed by the NHS as part of a large-scale clinical trial, the NHS-Galleri study. This test has been shown in studies to be effective at finding cancers that are typically difficult to identify early- such as head and neck, bowel, lung, ovarian and pancreatic cancers. By assessing the Galleri test at a population scale, we have the opportunity to better understand the performance of this test that can detect a cancer. This exciting opportunity promotes autonomy and the successful candidate will be supported to run clinics and manage their own patient case load, whilst working closely with the Community Ambulatory Care Team to ensure care is safely delivered for the patient. There is an opportunity of 2 x band 3 posts- part time/full time hours, this will be to cover multiple Community Hospital sites that range from Okehampton to Exmouth. The Community Phlebotomy Service operates Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00 This service works alongside Community Ambulatory and the Community outpatients services, therefore there will be an expectation to work across this cluster at times. Working Pattern: Full and part time positions available, Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00/08.00- 13.00.
