Join Our Team as a Alcohol Key Worker
In your role you will be stationed within local GP surgeries and communities, offering invaluable assistance to individuals identified as needing support to address their alcohol use. Your responsibilities encompass delivering a spectrum of interventions and providing comprehensive support aimed at fortifying resilience and enhancing their ability to attain their aspirations and foster recovery.
Working in close collaboration with GPs and healthcare professionals, you will bridge the gap for those who have not yet accessed our services.
Position Details
• Location: Cambridge
• Start Date: Immediate placement is our goal
• Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (24-month Fixed-Term Contract)
• Salary: Competitive salary in accordance with CGL Scale 23 – 28, depending on experience.
About the role:
• Provide psycho-social interventions within the primary care setting to those who are not currently accessing the core CGL Cambridgeshire hubs.
• To work collaboratively with the professionals in GP settings to provide support to those with alcohol and/or substances use issues.
• Working with the professionals in Primary Care and CGL to ensure the people we support have regular health checks including BBVs and other relevant screenings where required.
• To provide follow up support in the community.
About you:
• Possess a deep understanding of substance misuse issues and have experience working in a similar field.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and exhibit proficiency in IT.
• Be proactive and capable of working independently, showcasing strong time management and prioritisation abilities.
• Have a solid working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the ability to navigate and manage change successfully, always prioritising the needs of service users.
• Understand the significance of information governance processes and commit to adhering to and applying all necessary safeguards.
• Actively seek learning opportunities to enhance and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, and contribute to the learning and development of others.
