Job description
MCL are looking for a Principal Piping Engineer for our Oil and Gas client in Aberdeen.
Duration: If on a contract basis then estimated durations are 6 months with possible extensions thereafter.
However this may also be available as a Staff role.
Location: Aberdeen or Glasgow – hybrid working 3 days in the office with flexibility to work from home for 2 days.

**Candidates MUST have UK Right to Work** As the Principal Engineer, you will -
- Act as the discipline focal point providing support across the business and client streams in Hydrogen, Decarbonisation, Oil and Gas and Renewables.
- Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Design, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
- Proven and led assessing the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
- Carry out work in accordance with PD&MS and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
- Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
- Provide technical assistance to junior team members as and when required
You’ll have experience of:
- EPC, Brownfield and Greenfield projects
- Recap Pro experience
- AutoCad & Plant 3D experience
- Have experience of Offshore platform (Fixed or floating) and drilling operations-Brownfield project would be preferred.
- Be experienced in 3D model/lay out review with attention to constructability and maintenance.
- Be experienced in procurement of piping bulks, valves and speciality items, TBE and liaison with Vendors.
- Be good at communication in written and spoken forms.

- BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
- Chartered Engineer status preferred
- Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking
- Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines
- K nowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
- Understand the application of Autodesk Design products
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS & MIST ( advantageous )
