TPF Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established multi-office chartered accountancy practice firm based in their Hove office. They are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join their fast expanding team. The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience. This is an accounts position within a general practice capacity, ideal for an experienced Accounts Senior looking to join a growing team with exceptional exposure on offer and genuine career prospects.

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for;

• Take responsibility for a portfolio of clients – companies, individuals, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Maintain regular client contact on a pro-active basis, listen to needs, suggest initiatives/improvements, and meet client deadlines
• Acquire and apply technical expertise in accounting, tax and interpret laws, regulations, and standards to a mixed portfolio of clients
• Project confidence and credibility in dealing with both clients and fellow team members
• Prepare and oversee the production of accounts for a mixed portfolio of clients including sole traders and complex partnerships
• Prepare tax computations and complete personal tax returns. Occasionally complete capital gains tax returns as required.
• Manage and review accounts and tax returns
• Provide training support to more junior members of the team
• Calculating WIP provisions for internal reporting and billing.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate for this role will:

• Be fully ACA/ACCA qualified
• Have sound technical & professional knowledge
• Have experience managing a large client portfolio (for example, fees in a range of 250-375k)
• Be experienced in reviewing accounts and working toward performance targets
• Be commercially driven with an emphasis on providing quality advice & service to clients, with the ability to develop business and network comfortably.
• Be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to build rapport with clients easily and the internal team.
• Be competent in people management skills to enable successful coaching/mentoring of others
• Be highly organised to work in a methodical, time-efficient and accurate way.
• Be confident in making decisions
• Be tech savvy to be comfortable in a forward-thinking Practice. Competency with IRIS & XERO an advantage.
