Salary: In the range of £22,329 - £24,682 per annum (Dependent on skills, experience and qualifications)
Reporting to: Curriculum Manager
Primary Location: Northampton, Booth Lane Campus

The Team
Curriculum Area – Engineering
The Engineering team works with students across a range of different courses from practical machining, mechanical & electronics. Courses are run at levels 2 - 4.
The Role
Technician Demonstrator role would be suited to someone looking to support students learning, with particular focus on skills within Engineering curriculum. You will use demonstrating/ tutoring/mentoring skills to enable students to learn new specialist engineering on their learning programmes. The role includes delivery of general information sessions for students on health and safety in Engineering.
Must be able to use Manual Centre lathes, milling machines, bench fitting skills and able to use micrometres and inspection equipment. Use of programmes such as Multisim, MATLAB and SolidWorks is advantageous. Use of the Engineering equipment and machines is also part of the department’s skills. The role also involves helping students to progress with their education independently in one-to-one support sessions with students to enable them to develop their own work, especially for their final major projects. The delivery of specialist skills sessions to groups of students directed by course leaders from a range of different courses within the Engineering in a directed timetable. 3d printing, set up and use of equipment would also be desirable, along also with some knowledge of electronics and EV technology.
End of year final exhibitions are a great opportunity for students and team members to celebrate the hard work from the year. Managing and ordering equipment and materials and stock within budgets in an effective and sustainable manner is an essential part of the role.
