Project Manager - Major Transport Schemes
Location: West Yorkshire
Contract: 8-months ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to play a crucial role in the planning, design, appraisal, and delivery of major transportation programmes and projects for our local authority client in West Yorkshire. As the Major Transport Schemes Project Manager, you will be integral to the effective and efficient management of these programmes, aligning with the council's objectives for transportation, climate change, environmental improvement, place shaping, and economic growth.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Day-to-day project management of one or more major transport schemes, demonstrating technical knowledge, behaviors, and experience to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Accelerate project delivery by ensuring effective and consistent management of scope, objectives, risks, issues, cross-program dependencies, and tracking benefits and outcomes.
- Develop business cases for external funding, adhering to assurance frameworks that support timely major project delivery.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, council services, and partners.
- Provide intelligence and strategic guidance on transportation-based programs and projects, ensuring effective collaboration and shared outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, Members, developers, and infrastructure providers, to coordinate and deliver successful major highway and transport schemes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management, with a focus on major transport schemes.
- Background in highway and transport engineering and/or transport planning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Experience in business case development for external funding.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and financial management.
