As part of the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s UKSPF funded 5G Immersive Labproject, Digital Catapult NETV (run by Sunderland Software City) will be opening a new 5G enabled, immersive lab and co-working space in Eldon Square, Newcastle.

The Digital Catapult NETV team are taking responsibility for running an innovation programme from the space that will include the delivery of a series of workshops and business challenges, to support businesses from key sectors to better understand the potential of 5G, immersive and other related technologies.

You will be working alongside an Innovation specialist who will support you to deliver the programme’s objectives. You will also work closely with the community manager, from project partners ‘The Floe’ who will manage the co-working space.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the programme’s planned activities, and meeting the project’s intended key performance indicators.

How you will contribute to our vision

• To develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and the business communities who will be supported through the programme.
• Generate creative case studies and PR, in conjunction with Sunderland Software City communications team, to help promote the adoption of 5G, immersive and other related technologies.
• Deliver workshops, business challenges and any other activity considered appropriate for the role, which promotes and benefits all partners, including event attendance, partner liaison and networking.
• Work closely with delivery partners to add value through other available support in order to provide the maximum value to beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a series of in person workshops from the 5Gi-LAB in Eldon Square, Newcastle, that focus on the benefits of adopting 5G, immersive and other related technologies.
• Work with local businesses to run open calls for technology companies that can provide solutions to business challenges.
• Work with partners to conceptualise, develop and promote interesting 5G and Immersive case studies
• Deliver appropriate support to businesses to enable them to understand how 5G and Immersive technologies can be used effectively.
• Proactively seek out and engage with regional companies operating in the target sectors of the programme including
• Organise and manage a series of open days and public facing session to raise awareness of the 5Gi-LAB and showcase its capabilities to new audiences
• Lead on the evidencing and reporting of KPIs to the project funder

Important for success:

• A good understanding of emerging technologies including 5G and Immersive
• Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients and staff.
• Ability to work with a wide range of SMEs from different sectors and of different sizes to help them understand how these technologies can help them
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills and presentation skills.
• Proactivity and ability to demonstrate a desire for producing work of the highest quality
• A track record in successful partnership projects

Nice to have:

• Experience of leading and delivering successful projects in a fast-paced environment
• An understanding of public projects and associated funding
