Job description
Yew Tree Lodge is a 24- hour residential and reablement service for adults with mental health support needs located in Reading Berkshire. We support people stepping down from hospital, as well as providing the specialist mental health care and support necessary to avoid hospital admissions. We provide 14 independent living units with En-suite facilities offering respite care, longer-term support and two crisis intervention beds.
Job Advert Role Description
At Yew Tree Lodge, we work in partnership with residents and the people that support them to build confidence, self-esteem and daily living skills. We are passionate about helping people to get involved with what is happening around them, matching skills, talents and aspirations to opportunities in the area. We believe that connecting people with their communities is an essential way to improve quality of life, reduce isolation and enable independence.
Our service is based near to Royal Berkshire hospital and very close from centre of Reading, it takes 10 minutes’ walk to the town centre and bus stop is in front of our building. Our residents are fully independent and does not have any one-to-one personal care needs.
Support Workers daily responsibilities are
- Supporting residents to administer medication,
- Prompt and encourage residents to complete their daily routines and support them to learn independent skills
- provide 1:1 emotional support according to their mental health needs
- Complete wellbeing checks on residents,
- Complete electronic daily records, arrange activities with residents
- Complete Key working responsibilities, attend professional meetings, update care plans and risk assessments.
We provide free drinks and light snacks for our staff at service. Our full-time contract is 37.5 hours week, our staff enjoy working three 12.5 hours shifts and have 4 days off each week. Our pay rate is highly competitive in current market.
We are looking for highly enthusiastic staff who would like to work in mental health specialist service or would like to establish their career in this field. You do not need to have similar experience to come to join us, all you need is to have a passion and right attitude to work in this sector, we will provide you full induction and training.
