You may be wondering what is extra care housing at West Sussex - ' The ability to live with independence but with the care and support I need outside my front door'. We have self-contained flats that are suitable for people who require care and support to enable them to live independently within their communities. Our professional onsite care teams provide support throughout the day and night alongside communal facilities to those who live there and within the wider community. There is onsite scheme manager who will support the customer with housing and tenancy sustainment when moving in and as required. Extra Care Housing is a key strategic priority for West Sussex Adults Social Care, and will be expanding significantly over the next few years so this is a great time to join us and get involved in the brilliant services we provide.
About The Job
Salary: £52,049 to £55,615 per annum
Working pattern: 37 hours per week
Contract type: Fixed Term/Secondment* until 31/03/2025
Locations: Office base in Worthing and regular travel throughout West Sussex is required.
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for effective leadership and management of our highly skilled Extra Care Housing team. The Team Manager has direct line management responsibility for 6 Extra Care Officers. We are looking for a leader who role models best practice and provides support and advice for the team, ensuring there are safe working practices in the service. To succeed in this role, you need to be resilient, have previous management experience and have worked in frontline Adult services. Experience and Skills
Key Skills (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria so please ensure they are covered in your application):
1. Ability to make sound, pragmatic, problem-solving decisions including tackling difficult problems of a technical, professional, resource or people-related nature.
2. Excellent communication skills with ability to influence others and negotiate effective business solutions.
3. Research and knowledge management skills; able to apply project management principles and practices.
4. Leadership, effective people management and performance management skills and the ability to provide direction and support to individuals and teams during complex situations.
5. Ability to challenge existing practices and identify innovative strength-based solutions
6. Sound and accurate IT skills for general office duties, producing reports and undertaking research.
* Post graduate professional qualification relevant to the professional service specialism (such as CQSW/CSS/DipSW or BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent and PQSW).
* Registration with Social Work England and responsibility for maintaining registration.
