Purpose of the role
Under the guidance of the HR Manager in Derbyshire, the HR Advisor works as a key member within the Caistor site team, to ensure all the people elements of the colleague lifecycle are professionally delivered and compliant with legal and company policy, whilst supporting operational effectiveness.Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 - Potential for flexibility, working hours can be discussed further at interview stage.
Your key responsibilities as the HR Advisor will include:
•Give appropriate HR advice on key issues, supporting managers in disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings and confirming the outcome of the hearing
•Support managers and HR colleagues in change management activities
•Provide effective advice and guidance on all absence management cases
•Liaise with Occupational Health providers and specialists as required
•In partnership with the relevant department managers to manage headcount requirements including actual vs planned heads and identify vacancies
•Work with the resourcing and Holly Bank training team to ensure the onboarding of colleagues is effective
•Assist with the recruitment of skilled and Managerial roles, alongside the resourcing team
•Liaise with HR Shared Service functions to ensure delivery against key activities that support the operational HR team
•Coach & Mentor Managers to ensure regular 1:1’s and development reviews are carried out
•Work with the management team and training team to support and deliver aspects of the site training provision, ensuring training needs are identified and appropriate interventions put in place
•In conjunction with the Site Administrator, ensure that site data requirements are fed into the Avara Payroll team in accordance to set timelines
•Make recommendations for improvements in process and practices
•Ad hoc project work
What we are looking for:
•Current/Recent experience of working as a HR Advisor, along with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law is essential.
•CIPD qualified or part qualified – level 3 to 5
•Up to date experience and confident in usage of Microsoft Office and HR packages
•A high level of personal integrity demonstrating respect and empathy for others and being consistent, open and honest
•Methodical with an attention to detail whilst working at pace
•Ability to handle conflict/confrontation professionally and effectively
•Flexible and adaptable attitude
•Excellent interpersonal skills
