1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our local Primary Schools located in the vibrant community of Chorley.

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing individual to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions that support the pupil's academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, both in the classroom and during structured activities.

Assist the pupil with tasks and activities, adapting materials and resources as necessary to meet their needs.

Implement behaviour management strategies and support the pupil in developing social skills and independence.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the pupil's progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where the pupil feels valued and supported.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.

Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support pupils with SEN.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils through their learning challenges.

Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
