NEW MANUFACTURING ENGINEER ROLE FOR A GLOBAL LEADER IN HIGH VOLTAGE POWER CONVERSION BASED IN LITTLEHAMPTON, WEST SUSSEX
Our client based in Littlehampton, West Sussex is seeking a new Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining cutting–edge methods, tools, and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub–assemblies, and final assemblies. Collaborating with cross–functional teams, you will lead projects aimed at introducing new manufacturing technologies and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to cost reduction, process efficiency, and overall growth.
Essential Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Advise, justify, and implement capital investment and tooling procurement to ensure production capacity meets requirements and continually advances the manufacturing facility.
- Design and review factory layouts to accommodate growth and optimize operational efficiency.
- Recommend and implement process adjustments to maintain balanced production lines and appropriate TAKT times.
- Create and maintain build time standards, serving as benchmarks for ongoing improvements.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Projects to enhance product performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Implement industry best practices, optimizing Production through methods like line balancing, capacity analysis, and process flow mapping.
Work Environment for the role based in Littlehampton, West Sussex:
You'll operate in a versatile environment, bridging office, lab, and manufacturing settings, engaging across diverse functions. Occasional travel to international vendor and development locations may be required.
Skills required for the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Methodical reasoning and strong organizational/planning abilities
- Team collaboration under pressure
- Proficient problem–solving using recognized tools
- Experience in world–class manufacturing techniques: TAKT/line balancing, Kanban, lean principles, process flow mapping, and pull systems
- Effective multitasking on multiple projects
Experience:
- Over 3 years of relevant Production/Manufacturing experience supporting Operations (essential)
- Over 5 years of relevant Production/Manufacturing experience supporting Operations (desirable)
