Job description
A market leading adhesives manufacturing company based in Stafford is looking to recruit their next Technical Manager leading their growing R&D team. As a key player in their innovative team, you will spearhead multiple projects dedicated to advancing adhesive solutions for the specialist applications. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, regular engagement with customers, and active participation in trade associations.
Reporting directly to the Technical Director, this role offers an exciting avenue for ambitious professionals seeking career progression. Eligible candidates must hold a degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science and possess relevant industry experience. Preference will be given to those with a background in polyurethane chemistry.
Technical Manager responsibilities:
Manage projects for the development and manufacturing of innovative formulations, including adhesives, primers, sealants, and coatings.
Lead and oversee the technical team.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of product applications in the construction industry, including testing and evaluating their performance against national and international standards.
Represent the company at trade associations to strengthen industry partnerships.
Provide technical solutions to complex challenges.
Collaborate with the sales team and customers to deliver optimal solutions.
Work closely with production departments to implement new formulations into manufacturing processes.
Technical Manager qualifications:
Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science.
Proven industrial experience – developing innovative products related to polymers, primers, sealants, adhesives and/or coatings.
Proven project management expertise.
Experience in product formulation, ideally in adhesives or coatings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
£60k-£70k + excellent company benefits
