Disability Advisor (General), Full Time. Permanent 2. Disability Advisor (General), Full time, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract, Grade 7 : The salary scale is £36,024 - £44,263 per annum . You will receive £36,024 the scale minimum. Progress to the scale maximum will be via incremental progression, where applicable About the Role This is a key role within the department and provides the opportunity to work within a busy, committed and friendly student-orientated team within a demanding learning environment. The Disability Advisor y Service is part of Student Welfare and Support Services and provides specialist services to students, and support and guidance to Colleges and Departments on a wide range of disability issues. The Disability Advisor will manage a large caseload of often complex student work, conducting initial assessments of study-related support requirements and providing individually tailored, one-to-one advice and guidance to help students (and other staff working with them) address the barriers to learning experienced as a result of their disability. Both posts are available on a full-time basis (37.5hours P/W) and will involve a hybrid working pattern with some onsite and some remote/online working About You Candidates should be able to demonstrate: o Substantial experience of supporting disabled people. Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities and confidence to work with students with multiple and complex problems. o Understanding of the particular demands of a University (or similar) environment in respect of disabled students. o Strong administration and communication skills, and the ability to make/recommend arrangements to support individual students across a wide curriculum.
