Job Description
- Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager the Senior Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing and designing manufacturing tooling, and implementing improvements to production and assembly processes.
- Work within the core values of Quality, Innovation, attention to detail, sustainability, global capability, unique product, ease of use in all work-related activities.
- Understand company objectives and strive to meet or exceed the KPIs and metrics with regular reporting to the Design and Technical Manager.
- Write technical reports to summarise findings
- Presenting information using PowerPoint Undertake CAD model and drawing creation, document control and review
- Perform essential material stress-strain analysis calculations and DFMEA/PFMEA analysis
- Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs Communicate effectively with colleagues and sub-contractors involved in a project
- Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget
- Actual Project Time Estimated vs. Actual Project Budget Customer Satisfaction Ratings
- Experience, at least 4 + years in a Design Engineer role.
- Degree,/ HND/ HNC in a related field (Mechanical Engineering).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products SAP experience Experience of 3D CAD (CREO Parametric preferred) Experience of Tooling or jig and fixture design Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Experience working in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment Delivering results
- Effective communication in a clear and concise manner

- Ability to define problems, measure/collect data, establish facts and analyse, select and implement solutions and control/sustain outcomes
- Data driven and capable of critical thinking to make solid decisions
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Design Engineer should have:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Experience with project management, including budgeting and resourcing
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CAD and other design software
