They are now looking to recruit an experienced Engineering/Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their Senior Management Team.
Working with large composite structures and GRP mouldings, this is a great role for a self-starter, who can hit the ground running and has previous staff management experience.
The Operations Manager will report directly to the MD and will play an integral role within the SMT. You will be responsible for managing production operations (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sub-Contract, Quality and Planning) at one of their main sites based near Wareham, but you will also help to contribute to the achievement of the organisational objectives.
This Operations Manager role is responsible for implementing the correct process and practices within the teams, to deliver the successful delivery of projects to timescale and within standards, improving process and productivity, whilst working closely with the client/customer to deliver their programme requirements.
The successful Operations Manager will: -
Part of your challenge will be to manage very long term Managers who are fairly strong characters! As such you will need to be a strong personality but in the right way.
You won’t be micromanaged and will be expected (after training) to grasp the role, run with it but with support from the other members of the SMT.

Job Duties
Foster and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication and a strong commitment to achieving organisational goals and operational excellence.
Plan and organise production schedules, assess project and resource requirements to ensure production teams have the right instructions, materials, equipment and info to do their jobs efficiently and to the correct project specifications.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to the manufacturing team
Coordinate Manufacturing Operations with Production Supervisors/Team Leaders to ensure all teams are working effectively and efficiently.
Account manage customers forging excellent customer relationships through clear communication and support.
Continually assess production methods, processes and materials to improve productivity, implement new processes to improve production rates, lower cost and improve quality to help the company grow and develop.
Drive an attitude of continuous improvement
Report at Production, project and client meetings when needed
Ensure ongoing compliance with HSE regulations within the manufacturing facility
P&L Responsibility
Setting financial budgets for the year and report results to management
