The Company:
We are recruiting for a service business operating in a fast–moving and highly competitive sector. They operate on a multi–site basis throughout the UK with their HQ based in Derbyshire. They are undergoing a business transformation programme currently and the finance team will play a key role in this project. They are a people–based business, so teamwork and collaboration are key personality traits that they look for.
The Opportunity:
This is a newly created role to lead the relationship between the FP&A team with the Commercial and Operational site teams to facilitate enhanced communication, commercial understanding and improved decision making.
This role will provide the opportunity for you to make a positive impact on how the business is run and help improve site profitability. You will have the opportunity to drive change at different levels right across the business but will need to gain buy–in quickly, challenging appropriately to promote an agenda for the overall benefit of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will provide in–depth analysis of operational, and marketing spend, helping your audience to understand the drivers behind identified trends and improve future decision making
- Co–ordinating and executing profitability and pricing analysis by product/customer segment
- Revenue and margin analysis reporting enabling the senior management team to make informed decisions to secure future stability, growth, and profitability
- Working closely with management accounts to assist with month end close requirements
- Work closely with Operational Management and their support teams to provide financial expertise and analysis
- Creation, analysis and provision of detailed reporting to identify areas for commercial improvement
- Taking responsibility for analysis and reporting of budgeting and forecasting
- Provision of accurate and timely data and reporting on a weekly basis
- Consolidation of site weekly forecasts and margin forecasts
Skills and Experience Required:
- We require a highly motivated and commercial Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) who is interested in getting involved in commercial operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial and Operational awareness
- Excellent IT skills and Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Highly competent in analysis and interpretation of information
- Some experience in a similar commercial finance role will be advantageous
- Have extensive experience of providing financial support of a commercial nature to non–finance
- Ability to manage business relationships and understand the importance of challenging in the right way when required
- Possess excellent analytical ability, enabling you to quickly identify insightful trends and from large amounts of raw data
