UK date and time: 05-March-2024 11:46 Applicant Options New Search Login Job Details Help Terms of Use & Privacy Policy Job Details Research Assistant Department of Biology, 11a Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3SZ About you We are seeking a Research Assistant to assist on a project exploring uncertainties in habitat greenhouse gas emission estimates and valuation, and implications for environmental policy and management. About the role This desk-based, fixed-term position will involve literature review and environmental modelling to compile up-to-date estimates of areas and greenhouse emissions/removals for some key UK habitats, particularly peatlands. Findings and resulting recommendations will be reported to stakeholders in Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs Northern Ireland, and the Wildlife Trusts, and published in academic journals and wider reports. The role is part of the Agile Initiative project ’How can we manage uncertainties in habitat greenhouse gas emissions?’. We are seeking a candidate with a background in ecology or environmental science, with some familiarity with UK environmental policy and/or practice, who is equipped to carry out desk-based modelling work, able to work independently and as part of a team, and willing to contribute to wider Agile Initiative activities.
