Apprentice Train Driver

The Chiltern Railway Company Limited

Location

Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Being a Train Driver involves shift working and antisocial hours. However, shift patterns are set months in advance giving you certainty about when you will be working. Our fatigue management rules mean that you will always have adequate rest in between shifts. Rest days are built into the roster and are grouped together where possible so that you can plan to do things with your spare time!

The contracted working week is 35-hours, averaged over an 8-week period. There are opportunities to work additional shifts, for which you will be paid overtime but this is entirely voluntary. So, whilst the job involves very early mornings, late nights and some long shifts, there are many positives to the working arrangements that enable a positive work/life balance.
