Job description

What you will do in your working day

·         Receipting goods delivered.

·         Recording product information to be delivered.

·         Picking orders.

·         General housekeeping

·         Liaising with sales staff, production staff and purchasing team.

·         Liaising with external lorry drivers

·         Stock taking

·         Restocking of warehouse

.         Reporting directly to the warehouse supervisor.

The training you will be getting

The apprentice will follow the supply chain warehouse operative level 2 framework, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

The apprentice will be trained to use various pieces of machinery including forklift trucks and side loaders. As well as formal training (delivery method and location to be confirmed) the apprenticeship will use a mentor/buddy scheme where an experienced warehouse operative will support and offer guidance daily. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme there will be an opportunity to fulfil a role within our very busy warehouse. Setra Wood Products has a small team, and all departments work closely together, so there may be other opportunities in other departments too such as our purchasing office, sales office or within the accounts team.
