An exciting new role has been created to support the ongoing work to improve student attendance across secondary schools in Hastings through the reduction of suspensions & exclusions. Funded and supported by the Department for Education, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for supporting schools and students to ensure our young people have full access to the education they are entitled to. This is a fixed term role due to limited external funding with specific project focus to improve attendance and reduce suspensions and exclusions.

The successful candidate will be based at Ark Alexandra as the ‘home school’, where they will work with students 2 days a week. The remaining 3 days will be split across Hastings and St Leonards Academies, part of the University of Brighton Academy Trust.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with MAT leaders to understand the current challenges and barriers that are affecting education for vulnerable and dis-engaged learners who are at risk of suspension and/or permanent exclusion, including our new partnership with London south East Academies Trust.
This is a term time only position, which means you will only work 39 weeks of the year, plus one extra week in the school holidays as directed by your line manager. Pay is spread evenly over the year so you would never have a month without money.
