Job Description

To embed trauma informed practice across adult and children's services.

To take the lead in implementing the development plan devised by the Trauma Implementation Group.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise and leadership in the development of trauma informed practice development in Moray.

To support Council and Public Protection Partnerships in assessing their policies, practices, and physical environments against trauma informed principles.

To participate in and contribute to the development of trauma informed practice, embedding excellent practice across Social Work and Social Care Services in Moray.

Engage the wider community and involve people with lived experience of trauma.

The Individual

Significant experience in local government (or related sector) in a relevant field including social sciences, health and social care, social work, community development, housing organisational/workforce development.

Experience of development of policy, procedures and guidance.

Experience of supporting organisational/culture change.

Educated to degree level of equivalent in a relevant field including social sciences, social work, health and social care, community development, housing and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Evidence of continuing professional development.

Ability to negotiate, influence and liaise effectively.

Ability to reconcile demands and wishes against financial processes.

Ability to work flexibly and to meet demands of the service.

Ability to analyse diverse and complex information and present this to a variety of stakeholders.

Highly effective oral/written/presentation communication skills.

Competent use of IT equipment, software and good keyboard skills.

Effective time management, assessment and organisational skills.

You will be expected to travel efficiently between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/pool car.

Ability to present complex information to colleagues.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to support colleagues,

Ability to challenge practice appropriately.

Understand and apply the principles of trauma informed practice, recognise the potential implications that traumatic events can have on a person’s life and the benefits of public services being trauma informed.

Organised and able to manage competing priorities.

Ability to work in partnership in a multi-professional way.

Ability to work independently and use own initiative.

Ability to be creative.

Ability to deal sensitively with staff and people who use services, including the need to deal with sensitive or personal matters and maintain confidentiality.

Willingness to accept direction/delegation.

Ability to work in an open plan office.

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.

Ability to work in different offices/settings to meet the needs of the service.

Starting salary: £41,696

£22.12 per hour

36.25 hours per week

Temporary for 18 months
