Job description

Forde Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of our client who are experts in providing dry / bulk material storage and transfer solutions for ready-mix concrete batching plants and industrial applications.

To provide CAD product design and mechanical engineering on a continuous basis. Based at their Chesterfield/Staveley site, you will be designing, providing calculations, conducting site surveys and performing project management duties, predominantly based around their silo / bulk material projects.

Location: Based at our Chesterfield/Staveley

Hours: 40 per week

Salary: £36-40k with additional company benefits.

Responsibilities

• Preparing proposed layout drawings and general arrangements.
• Conducting detailed site surveys for installations of silos, screw conveyors and associated machinery.
• Carrying out engineering calculations to ensure that designs are fit for purpose.
• Generating 3D CAD models and 2D fabrication drawings / documents to a standard (familiarity with ASME Y14.5 would be beneficial).
• Liaising with suppliers regarding product design to ensure suitability for manufacture.
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers as required.
• Generating budget quotations / specifications as required to enable the Sales team to rapidly qualify new opportunities without undertaking full engineering design.
• Preparation of RAMS and O & M manuals as required.

Job Requirements

• Ideally 2 years’ experience in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Ideally a few years' experience in industry, it would be preferred if this had been within our industry.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Use of Office 365 Suite and company systems.
