Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Owning supplier measurement process and inspecting incoming goods to engineering drawings and specifications to confirm conformance;
- Logging all supplier quality issues and where appropriate, requesting corrective/preventative action;
- Working with production line personnel for supplier related line failures;
- Logging all supplier quality issues and controlling non-conforming products;
- Driving FMA activities, reviewing quality history, design & PFMEA as required to ensure engineering commodity Design Verification Plan robustness;
- Reviewing warranty data and investigating RCCA, aiming for highest customer satisfaction;
- Ensuring engineering data, drawings and specifications are robust and will deliver a quality product;
- Leading problem resolution and root cause activity with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply of assured parts;
- The returning, tracking, and documentation of rejected goods to suppliers;
- Interfacing with various engineers and departments to ensure suppliers are fully supporting effective operations;
- Developing quality planning APQP/PPAP activity plans for new projects and supplier visits;
- Management of PPAP activities, including parts readiness, agreeing part quality standards and part approvals.
- Conducting supplier audits and assessments against programme timing;
- Ensuring application approvals are complete with relative parties, identified with PPAP & NPI;
- Supporting the purchasing strategy through quality planning and data analysis development;
- Other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required:
- Educated to HNC or higher in a technical engineering discipline;
- Previous experience within a Quality environment is essential;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications;
- Good working knowledge of quality standards and systems, including ISO9001 or the equivalent standard;
- Ability to successfully conduct supplier-based audits and support procurement onboarding;
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills;
- Knowledge of quality improvement tools;
- You should be a team player;
- Capable of exerting influence and personal authority;
- Confident, self-motivated and customer oriented;
- Self-motivated and customer oriented.
