Opportunity

At OQC our Laboratory Maintenance Technicians are the guardians of our lab space and we have an opportunity for an experienced and technically minded individual to join the team. Working closely with a skilled team of technicians alongside our Quantum Engineers and Fabrication specialists; you will have the chance to put your broad skillset to good use while gaining experience with a wide range of new technologies. If you are a motivated, hands-on technician who understands the importance of a safe, well maintained working environment, we might be the right next step for you.

Remuneration

The Role

The technician team supports laboratory operations at OQC by maintaining the smooth, safe functioning of our lab environment. Technicians also facilitate our Quantum Engineer’s by handling various manual tasks, such as wiring, assembly and polishing of components, and thus enabling our Quantum Engineers to focus on developing our cutting edge technology. The lab is a varied environment and technologies encountered include: Electronics, Cryogenics, water systems and HVAC. 

Maintaining a safe working environment in the lab means ensuring that all technicians understand and are ready to promote and enforce Health and Safety best practice at all times.

As our quantum devices are running around the clock, there is occasionally a need for technicians to attend site out of hours should a fault occur which requires immediate action, because of this, some flexibility in availability is required.
