The key aim of the post is to develop groups for statutory and non-statutory clients of the YOS to help in delivering more targeted and specialist work regarding topics in relation to gangs and sexual violence:
• Issues of race and culture
• Masculinity and attitudes to women
• Serious youth violence and links to masculinity.
• Gangs, gang violence and gang membership.
• Violence against women and girls
• Sexual violence and exploitation.
• Homophobia

Male/female safety
Experience: DConsiderable demonstrable experience of delivering a variety of both open and closed group work programmes, that challenge and change behaviour, to clients with complex needs and challenging behaviour. Extensive demonstrable experience as a practitioner in Social, Youth and / or Criminal Justice [CJ] work with particular emphasis on direct one to one and group work. Must be experienced in working in a pressured environment, to policy and procedure and in delivering group work to a wide age group.
Skills and Knowledge Base: Extensive knowledge of group work theory and relevant legislation, practice, policy, procedure and guidance concerning the criminal justice system and children and young people and a substantial understanding of intervention initiatives at both National and local service leveland trauma informed practice. A good knowledge of evidence basedevidence-based practice relating to young people and the prevention of offending and re-offending. . Particularly a cCurrent knowledge of issues relating to evidenced based practice in Youth Offending Teams / custodial establishments and its development with emphasis on assessment, risk, victims , serious youth violence and the welfare of young people. Must have a knowledge and understanding of how performance management and the use of information can improve service delivery in Youth Justice.
