The Role
The School of Dental Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic Learning and Teaching Assistant to join our Professional Services team.
You will provide administrative support across the full student lifecycle to ensure the smooth and effective running of the School’s Undergraduate Taught programmes.
You will have good IT organisational and communication skills and work well within a team. You will be keen to provide students and staff with a consistently excellent level of service.
This role is available on a part time basis at 50% fte, equivalent to 18.5 hours per week. Working hours will be discussed at interview. Blended working opportunities to work remotely as well as on campus may be considered.

Key accountabilities
• To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive support service for the Learning and Teaching functions of the school
• To provide support for the arrangement of student elective placements and maintaining accurate records
• To support the collation of local timetable requirements in agreed timescales and, liaising with academic staff regarding requirements, advising on constraints and practicalities of requests
• To support the organization of practical assessments and assist in setting up examination venues
• Acting as secretary to meetings including meeting organisation, agenda preparation and circulation, minute taking and monitoring of actions
• Inputting updates of teaching materials on University systems as they arise, and the timely distribution of materials to staff and students
• Provide accurate student data to external stakeholders ensuring timely delivery of information
• To carry out other duties, as defined by line manager, which support the successful achievement of the School’s vision and strategy

• Numeracy skills
• Good I.T. skills, i.e. good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages

Qualifications
• Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) or vocational qualifications, plus work experience in a relevant role; or substantial relevant work experience in a comparable setting
