Description
Senior Mechanical Engineer
You will provide professional mechanical engineering services to the Stowmarket site, to support compliance, projects and maintenance teams. The Senior Mechanical Engineer (SME) will be the resident expert for all mechanical aspects for the site. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure regulatory compliance for mechanical fixed equipment.
2. Responsible for arranging with external inspection supplier to manage storage tank inspections observing EEMUA 231/159.
3. Plan and arrange tank repairs to be carried out by approved third-party contractors.
4. Responsible for arranging with external inspection supplier to carry out pipework inspections in accordance with API570.
5. Ensure inspections are scheduled in keeping with regulations, WSE, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPS) and standards.
6. Lead the implementation of procedures for Mechanical Integrity programmes.
7. Produce repair reports for mechanical equipment following inspection.
8. Ensure all regulatory paperwork and certificates are maintained, filed and available for inspection by the Regulating Authority or internal audits.
9. Partner with Operations, Planning and Engineering to arrange plant availability for inspection.
10. Perform visual inspections of plant and equipment.
11. Specify mechanical equipment requirements to assist the project or maintenance teams.
12. Assist Maintenance teams with root cause analysis investigations and plant criticality.
13. Making and influencing decisions regarding maintenance regimes to maximise uptime, throughput, quality and yield and improve expenditure.
14. Arrange and be main contact for Insurance Inspections, including Pressure systems.
15. Participate with other members of the Engineering and EHS team with HSE interventions.
16. Produce a monthly report detailing compliance and inspections due.
17. Manage mechanical projects.
18. Participation in HAZID, LOPA and ALARP studies.
19. Working with Project Engineers to ensure that any new plant and equipment is registered and inspected according to required timescales.
20. Responsible for the mechanical ATEX/DSEAR assessment and the resultant actions.
Qualifications
· Degree/HNC level qualification in mechanical engineering.
· Experience of using AutoCAD.
· An experienced Engineering professional with experience engineering in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience of compliance on an Upper Tier COMAH site.
