Job description

Key Duties: Clinical Practice: Perform safe and correct analysis of ECGs and take appropriate action to determine on-going management and treatment. Undertake advanced assessment skills (if not already completed) including history taking, examination and diagnosis/differential diagnosis with treatment plan. Undertake the Non-Medical Prescribing course and use knowledge of cardiac drugs to ensure safe prescription, administration as well as patient education and concordance. To participate in Rapid access chest pain clinic, Post PCI clinic. Risk stratification of cardiac risk factors for patients, providing appropriate health education and guidance to minimise the risk of future cardiac events. To organise and interpret, as appropriate CTCA following completion of IRMER training and relevant competencies and guidelines, ETT, ECHO, 24 hour tape and other investigations as appropriate. To communicate with patients in ways that empowers them to make informed choice about their health, utilising advanced communication skills, whilst acting as the patients advocate. Organise and facilitate early cardiac investigations and prompt referral to a cardiologist Maintain clear accurate and concise records on every patient. Up-to-date written information to GPs and the patient. Adhere to Trust protocols with specific reference to Acute coronary Syndromes ( ACS ) and medications. To work within the NMC code of professional conduct. Have and maintain life support skills Advance clinical practice in line with service needs
