About the Opportunity

UK Field Solutions has over 50 years’ experience working in the construction industry. Our core business is the delivery of projects and programmes in partnershipwith our clients. We have a wide and diverse pool of experienced resources using proven delivery systems and processes that are benchmarked as best in class.

It presents an exciting opportunity for someone to join a growing team focused on excellence within the Project Management Organisation (PMO) and project controls function. This is a role for an experienced risk manager to support our client’s framework and provide risk management services across a portfolio of projects throughout the delivery lifecycle. Activities are to include:

• Application of risk management processes and systems.
• Facilitation of risk identification workshops and reviews both internally and client facing.
• Performing qualitative and quantitative risk management through a structured approach that allows individual risk events and overall project risk to be identified and assessed and then controlled through the evaluation of options and the selection of implementation of risk management strategies.
• Contribute to capture of assumptions, exclusions and dependencies.
• Support the development of risk responses and actions including monitoring and reporting through to risk closeout.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative risk analysis through assessment of the risks, interpret the results and apply analysis to assess appropriate allowances for risk.
• Supporting analysis of the output data documented in basis of risk reports to provide risk-based guidance to project managers and business decision makers.
• Gaining buy-in from project teams through stakeholder engagement and client meetings.

Here’s what you’ll need :

• Understanding of the relationship between risk management and controls/management functions including project management, change control, planning & scheduling, cost & commercial management, and reporting.
• Understanding and experience in application of a variety of contract forms of construction contracts.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of project and programme management; awareness of portfolio.
• Experience using Enterprise Risk Management tools, for example, Active Risk Manager (ARM), RiskHive.
• Experience in the application of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools, for example- @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Risk etc.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Power BI.

• Leadership skills applicable to the risk function.
• Ability to motivate and liaise with team members and discipline leads to ensure that risk information is as agreed with client and other stakeholders.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and personal resilience to working under pressure and with different styles of leadership.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

Experience

• Preferably Degree educated, Masters or equivalent experience
• Professional level associated qualifications or Postgraduate qualifications are not essential but advantageous if degree is in an unrelated subject (i.e. undergraduate/postgraduate degree, IRM Diploma or Certificate, APM Risk Certificate, PMI-RMP, MoR Practitioner)
• 5 years’ experience with strong working knowledge of risk management in a project execution related environment
• Appropriate Membership of one or more risk management / project management professional bodies (i.e. IRM / APM)
• Experience of Nuclear, Defence, Technology and Cyber industries is preferable
