Prospect Hospice

Location

Swindon | United Kingdom

Job description

Retail Area Support Managers

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days in 7 – to include Sundays and Bank Holidays)

Our shops are at the heart of the charity and our community, raising vital funds and increasing public awareness of the incredible work we do. We’re looking for retail area support managers to join our Prospect Hospice team. You’ll be acting as an ambassador for Prospect Hospice, motivating your team to maximise sales and fundraising targets. Your patch will be a place where your local community gets to meet our people, understand our brand, and see some of the great things we do.

Being part of the Prospect Hospice team brings a real sense of job satisfaction, and a feeling that you can truly make a difference. At Prospect Hospice we provide vital end of life care to patients living with a life limiting illness. We also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys.

“I love working for Prospect Hospice as we are not just part of a team but we are part of a family working for the same aim of supporting not only the local community but a worthwhile cause.” Kim, Store Manager.

The role

You’ll be our go-to person, our reliable pair of hands. Jack of all trades, master of all - where no two days are ever the same. You’ll cover our shops and ecommerce operation, which also includes hosting our popular pop-up shops and working with our online shop team.

Did you know only a quarter of our funding comes from statutory organisations like the NHS – the rest we raise ourselves. Our shops are vital to generating income, last year we raised a whopping £2million towards hospice care. With your inspiring fundraising ideas, you’ll help us continue to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in our community who is affected by a life-limiting illness.

You’ll be responsible for the shops you temporarily manage, looking after the staff and volunteers and ensuring the shop continues to run effectively and safely. You’ll help set team budgets and targets and contribute to the development of ideas for new promotions and other improvements to retail practice.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience in managing a charity shop or similar.

Full training will be provided and your team leader will be on hand for support and to answer all your questions.

In return, you will be joining a great team working in a supportive and collaborative environment for one of Swindon’s best loved charities. Take a look at the job description and apply today to be part of something amazing!

A driving licence and access to a car is essential. Positions to cover the following areas:
