Job description
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage design engineering projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Proactively engage in all phases of the design process, from conceptualization to completion, including mechanical and structural calculations, drafting, and finite element analysis (FEA) within set deadlines.
Collaborate closely with project engineers/managers, design engineering managers, clients, and suppliers to understand project scope and deliver innovative solutions.
Plan, delegate, and oversee tasks among project team members, ensuring effective communication and project progress.
Conduct and participate in design reviews, presentations, and meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and delivery schedules.
Support sales efforts by developing, reviewing, and approving design solutions and plans.
Mentor and train junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement within the department.
Uphold company standards, protocols, and statutory requirements, including health and safety policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum HNC in Design Engineering; Chartered Engineer status or a 2:1 in Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Structural) highly desirable.
Over 5 years of experience in the offshore industry, with expertise in structural, mechanical, and hydraulic system design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MathCad, Ansys, and other relevant engineering software.
Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in advancing technological solutions for customer-oriented outcomes.
Familiarity with pressure vessel design, lifting equipment, hydraulics, and fabrication techniques preferred.
