Teign Housing
Location
Newton Abbot, Devon | United Kingdom
Job description
Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12
Lead the team that’s leading the way in transforming our tenants’ lives.
Teign Housing is a successful social landlord employing over 90 ambitious, committed people, responsible for managing more than 3,600 homes across South Devon. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team to ensure the wellbeing of our sheltered housing tenants – giving them everything they need to remain independent and enjoy their lives to the full.
About the Hub Co-ordinator role
Undertaking regular visits and calls and responding rapidly to emergencies, you will build close relationships with our residents and develop a deep understanding of their needs. In particular, you will conduct risk assessments for new tenants, provide detailed information on the services we offer and oversee all aspects of property maintenance and security, whilst co-developing person-centred goal plans and offering guidance on money management, self-care and healthy living. At the same time, you will liaise constantly with external agencies to achieve positive outcomes and champion best practice in supporting older residents and those with special needs, so you will make a real difference to the way we think and work. Above all, you will be the principal link between Teign Housing and our tenants, quickly becoming a trusted friend and confidant.
About you
Fully versed in meeting the needs of older people, you will be experienced in managing teams, providing face-to-face customer support and keeping detailed records. Familiarity with the benefits and tax credits system would be very useful, as would a background in dealing with residents with challenging social, mental and physical issues, but more importantly you will be a creative problem solver and exceptional relationship builder with the drive and determination to make things happen.
Benefits
As an investor in People Platinum organisation, you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture. We offer an excellent benefits package with a contributory pension scheme, 25 days’ leave per year plus bank holidays, free parking and an agile, modern working environment.
