Job description

Brook Street recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Ballyclare to recruit a full time and permanent Credit Controller

The successful candidate will join an existing accounts team of 8 staff based at the client Headquarters in Ballyclare and involves responsibility for a range of duties as outlined below.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Completing credit checks on potential new customers
Periodic credit checking of existing customers
Setting and monitoring credit limits
Communicating with customers to chase current and overdue debt
Communicating with customers to ensure receipt and processing of large invoices
Progression of debt collection through to legal action where necessary
Weekly and monthly debt and cash reporting
Issue all company customer statements.
Ad hoc investigations and reporting
Assisting with the cash allocation process
Be pro-active in adopting industry best practice and the use of technology.
Other general administration duties, such as running various daily, weekly and monthly reports, scanning and filing paperwork, record archiving and general word processing
Other duties as may be required from time to time.

Required Criteria

Previous experience of working in a busy accounts department
Previous credit control experience in a commercial environment
Be able to work on own initiative and manage time to meet strict targets
Possess excellent Microsoft Excel skills and all-round computer literacy
Possess the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and written and both internally and externally
Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
Possess an ability to structure workload in an efficient manner
Be able to cope working under pressure
Must be confident with telephone communication and possess a polite and professional telephone manner
Be able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also possessing the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a fast learner
Possess a proactive and flexible working approach to meet the needs of the business
Have the ability and willingness to work as part of a team
Have the ability to pay attention to detail and solve problems efficiently
Have the drive and determination to complete work efficiently on time
Possess a willingness to learn and a drive to succeed
Have strong organisational and prioritisation skills and an ability to structure work load efficiently
Be willing to accept change and have the ability and flexibility to adapt accordingly as business needs require

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday.
