Job description
Finance Director - our client, based in Essex , is a highly successful, entrepreneurial and profitable Digital/Ecommerce Financial Services business , growing year on year both organically across multiple platforms and by acquisition, consistently establishing strong relationships with key partners in the B2B and B2C sectors.
To accompany exciting planned growth, the company is looking for an accomplished Finance Director with a strong track record of success to join the Board and Senior Management Team. Experience in Digital Marketing / Ecommerce or Financial Services would be useful.
Crucial to the next stage of the company's development, you will be a strategic, commercial and analytical Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA) capable of developing a finance team that consistently provides quality decision-making support to the business.
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director role will include:
- Hands-on management of the finance team with effective delegation to ensure strong P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting, with insightful commentary
- Gain an understanding of key business drivers to provide added-value analysis to the business across commercial, finance and compliance, together with development, monitoring and reporting of relevant business KPIs
- Responsibility for managing the group's budgetary and forecasting processes with relevant financial modelling to aid decision-making
- Work closely on the Board contributing to building growth strategy and work closely with management and budget holders across the business
- Ensure and maintain a strong framework of controls and systems across finance, industry reporting, regulatory reporting, compliance and other business processes
- Contribute to and sign-off pricing decisions across different product offerings, understanding how pricing and formation of products impacts margins across the business
- Monitor expenditure in the business, particularly marketing spend, assessing its impact on efficiency and profitability
- Management of group taxation including insurance taxes, VAT and business taxes, together with company secretarial issues, liaising with external advisers and accountants where necessary.
- Effective control of group recharges and reporting for the European subsidiary
- Oversee and validation of incentive and commission schemes within the business
- Manage banking relationships and oversee insurance, legal matters and commercial contracts
The role offers excellent career prospects working within a strong entrepreneurial Board with a track record of success. The new Finance Director will ideally have experience working in an entrepreneurial SME environment. Relevant sector experience - Digital Marketing / Ecommerce / Financial Services - would be useful.
