Eden Scott is delighted to be working with one of Scotland's most exciting biotech startups as they look to continue their impressive growth. Their mission is to solve some of the most pressing issues in human medicine, agriculture, and fundamental biology, and they're looking for an experienced Project Manager to support them on their journey.
The Role
As their Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various projects within their Operations, Research and Development, and Bioinformatics teams. You'll use your experience to guide projects from initiation to completion, within timeline, budget, and quality standards.
This role offers candidates the chance to utilise previous experience to guide the development of an exciting new startup. The role is based in the South of Edinburgh, and with a hybrid working pattern of 1-day per week on-site, it would suit those based in and around the Central Belt of Scotland very well.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope and success criteria.
- Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate communication among internal teams, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Manage project resources effectively, allocating them based on priorities and constraints.
- Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively monitor project risks and implement response plans as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout project execution.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams to maintain compliance.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold product integrity and reliability.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Several years of high-quality experience in a similar role in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry - biotech or pharmaceutical industry, preferably with a focus on wet lab projects, kit production, or diagnostic development.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, with certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM) preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira) for planning, scheduling, and tracking project progress.
