Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. The ideal Service Manager will possess the following qualities and qualifications:
- Compassion and Empathy: We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the well-being and happiness of the people we support. Understand challenges of learning disabilities, driven to provide utmost support and care.
- Leadership Skills: The ability to lead and inspire a team of support staff is crucial in this role. We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills who can guide, mentor, and motivate their team to achieve excellence in delivery of support.
- Person-Centred Approach: The people we support have unique needs and goals, and we believe in tailoring our services to meet those individualised requirements. Ideal candidates skilfully develop person-centred support plans, respecting autonomy and choices of those we support.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication is key to success in this role. Collaborate with people we support, families, and stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and open dialogue for optimal outcomes.
- Experience and Qualifications: A level 5 qualification in a related field or equivalent experience is required. Previous experience in a leadership role within supported living or a similar setting is highly valued. Knowledge of disability services and regulatory requirements is essential.
What will you be doing as a Service Manager?
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, guide, and inspire support staff; offer continuous training and mentorship for high-quality support; foster collaborative, supportive team culture.
- Person-Centred Support: Collaborate with people we support and their families, create personalised support plans; tailor services to meet unique needs, preferences, and goals for everyone.
- Operational Oversight: Manage supported living services daily; ensure compliance with regulations; allocate resources efficiently to meet services goals within budgets.
- Supported Person Advocacy: Advocate for rights and choices, promoting autonomy; be a trusted contract for people we support and their families, addressing concerns and needs, ensuring self-determination.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for supported people and staff; ensure that all safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed rigorously.
