Job description

Supported Living Team Leader
• Salary: £22,000 - £24,000
• Location: North London
• Report to the Supported Living Manager.

Your purpose will be to enable people with mental health needs, disabilities and associated needs to improve and maintain the quality of their lives by:
• Support and supervision of staff and acting as Shift leader.
• Support in achieving daily living skills
• Identifying and meeting the needs of Individuals
• Developing and maintaining relationships with Service Users, staff, and the local community
• To work additional hours when authorised and as necessitated by the needs of the business and take part in on-call.

Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with providing a needs-led service in keeping with the aims and objectives of the service.
To take responsibility for the overall care and support of tenants residing within the service to ensure compliance with care and support plans as directed by the Supported Living Manager.
Participating and assisting with defined care plans, encouraging individuals to take an active role in all aspects of daily living.
Ensure that care and support plans and risk assessments are in place and monitored as required and ensure that staff adhere to these.
Attending training on topics which relate to behaviour support and learning disabilities.
Communicate in a polite and professional way with the people we support and their relatives, other organisations, staff within and other professionals.
In the absence of the Manager to be responsible for the management of the service. To take responsibility for other allocated tasks as deemed appropriate by the Supported Living manager.
In addition to the above, a Team Leader is expected to:
Undertake other duties from time to time as required by the Manager of the Service.
After successful training and assessment of competence around the administration of medicines and assess support workers' competencies strictly in accordance with the policies and procedures.
Maintain an awareness of own developmental needs and undertake training, as necessary.
Carry out duties in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent Health and Safety legislation.
Ensure compliance in relation to our regulators CQC by providing an open and transparent service in relation to the care and treatment of people who use our services.

• Reporting any service needs of whatever nature to your line manager.
• Ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and accurate.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
• Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and competency assessments to ensure they can safely complete their roles.
• Ensure quarterly supervisions, monthly staff meetings and observations of practice are completed on a quarterly basis. Where there are shortfalls, ensure the performance management procedure is followed.
• Ensure all new team members gain thorough induction and probation reviews and their competence is assessed regularly.
• Be able to work as part of a team in order to provide personal care and support for individuals who receive the regulated activity.
• To promote a culture of dignity, equality and diversity and ensure all staff working in the projects treat all tenants with dignity and respect and assist them to undertake a range of everyday living skills to access a range of opportunities and experiences either in their own home or the wider community appropriate to their level of functioning, in order to help the individual, achieve a dignified and meaningful lifestyle which maximises their independence.
• Support and actively listen to tenants to express their views, make choices and decisions about their lives, and facilitate tenant meetings.
• To undertake flexible working arrangements in accordance with tenants and the Service requirements, including weekends, evenings, nights, and sleep-ins.
• Ensure that all housing management checks are undertaken.
• Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with tenants and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Undertake duties such as care system audits, health and safety audits, fire safety audits, spot checks and any other audits as directed by the Supported Living Manager.
