Peripatetic London and South East, Hybrid working
Permanent, full time (37.5 pw)
Salary circa £35000 dependent on location and on skills and experience, plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan

This is a great job opportunity for a Housing Manager to join Home Groups awesome housing team in London and the South East. As our Housing Manager you’ll be the face to face customer support to our communities. This is the perfect job for you if you like variety and delivering excellent services to our customers and communities, especially as this role is mobile so you’ll jump in to where needs the additional support! You could spend a few weeks on a project in fire safety, or a month dealing with estates, to supporting with rent – loads to keep you on your toes here! You’ll spend your week mixing working from home, with working in our fab new sparkly Liverpool Street office space, and the rest of your time in the community.
Typical day as a Housing Manager
- Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to get to know our communities.
- You’ll look after a number of patches and neighbourhoods.

- Proactively managing anti-social behaviours in our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints.
- Managing our voids process including liaising with local authorities.
- Carry out estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, as well as carrying out and recording the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
- Work closely with our fire safety team to close Fire Risk Assessments.

About You
- Ideally, you’ll have worked in housing before and understand housing management, housing law and universal credit too! However, it’s your ‘can-do’ positive approach that will really impress us so direct housing experience isn’t a deal breaker!
- You’re super organised and methodical in your approach, you’re also a proactive self-starter with solution focused positive attitude
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
- This job can be a challenge, especially when we’re dealing with complaints, but your resilience will help you through.
- Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MP’s etc
- Like being part of a team but appreciate that this is a role where you’ll spend most of your time working in our local estates, or from home.

Our team
You’ll join Sonia, our Operations Manager and our peripatetic housing manager team. Sonia’s been at Home Group for almost 2 years now, but has 18 years’ experience in the housing sector, and when she’s not in work she loves the gym or dancing, which are just as well given her other passions are food and drink!
Job details
- This is a hybrid role and in an average week, you’ll spend 1-2 days working from home, or an office if you prefer, and the other days in our communities across London and the South East.
- As a mobile worker you’ll have a fair deal of travel visiting our customers and buildings, but the good news is you’ll manage your own diary!
- We do get together regularly as a team, and meet in our sparkly new office space in Liverpool Street
- There may be some flexibility to adapt your working hours, do let us know about this when you meet us at the interview
- To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
