The Opportunity
A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Asset Manager. In this role you will have responsibility for managing an Asset Manager and overseeing a portfolio of Offshore Wind Assets on behalf of the investors, ensuring that the current and future performance of the assets are in line with the business plan.
Through a close working relationship with the Offshore (England) O&M team, you will optimise asset performance and financial returns whilst also seeking to identify and implement continuous improvements. You will oversee a variety of operational and strategic, commercial/financial matters associated with the running of their operational portfolio of assets which includes a mix of wind turbines models.

Offshore wind farms are high risk environments, your role is to integrate a variety of activities in order to achieve performance and revenue targets.
- The role includes performance management of wind turbine OEMs and internal O&M service delivery which presents a particular challenge because of the different factors to consider.
- Ensure the contractual compliance with all commercial agreements as well as stakeholder relationships to include; equity investors, OEMs, Independent Engineers and landowners focusing on the highest quality of services
- Liaise with the Offshore (England) O&M team to monitor and challenge the operational performance and optimisation metrics to achieve the portfolio’s highest possible production-based availability.
- Prepare and manage internal and external forecasts, internal and external budgets, financial and operational variance reports, and other ad hoc reports as needed, relevant to their allocated sites.
- Profit & Loss responsibility of assigned renewable energy assets plus oversee P&L management for direct reports.
- Develop, implement & manage processes and procedures that outline the expected standards for managing the assets.
- Interface with EDF Renewables internal teams such as Performance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Development, technical delivery teams and with external service providers to optimise major repairs, contingency plans, necessary capital investments, payback periods, project returns and life extension options.
- Facilitate collaboration amongst organisational cross-functional teams as conditions necessitate finding resolutions for any operational, financial, commercial or technical issues.
What do you need to be great at this role?
You will be University Degree qualified in either Engineering or Business discipline with strong experience in asset management of power generation assets.
- Experience in an Energy company, Advisory or Investment group managing a group or portfolio of assets or sites, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
- Must be a team player and able to demonstrate experience successfully dealing with peers, management, cross functional groups, project stakeholders and unaffiliated third parties.
- Understanding of energy markets, policy & regulation and knowledge of renewable generation specific applications and opportunities.
- Prior project management experience administering energy projects and/or project financing of renewable energy projects.
- Fast learner who is able to gain a quick understanding of operability and performance expectations of any company’s renewable energy technologies.
- Experience of contract management and preparing/managing budgets.
- Strong experience of managing risks and issues of operating wind turbines/rotating plant.
- A commitment to QHSE, with a good understanding of HSE legislation and standards.
- High level of numeracy and some data analytics.
- Budget preparation, budget tracking and cost control.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to learn and support others with flexibility and “can do” attitude.
- Able to work effectively in Microsoft software programs, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience of using Enterprise Asset Management software is a distinct advantage.
- Full UK driving licence.
