Health Care Support Worker - Vascular | Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust

Location

Oldham, Greater Manchester | United Kingdom

Job description

Ward T3 is a 28 bedded inpatient vascular/surgical unit.

Ward T3 at Royal Oldham is looking to recruit Health Care Support Workers that want to join an enthusiastic team committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients.

Initiatives such as end PJ paralysis, using e-obs for the deteriorating patient, c.diff awareness using tests of change to decrease infection across the hospital and pressure ulcer prevention all feature in monthly ward meetings where staff are encouraged to have a voice.

Our commitment to you
• A well-staffed, supportive environment (most shifts have a rostered co-ordinator)
• Senior nurses who will value and appreciate you
• Support for your development and training
• A fully staffed unit with senior support workers who are enthusiastic, keen to learn and willing to support you in providing top notch care.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

The right Health Care Support Worker for us….

We are looking for dedicated, committed and reliable individuals who are keen to learn, willing to work together as a team but are self-motivated and can work independently when needed. This is a forward thinking team so you will need to be someone who can embrace change and get stuck in.

You will be a professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but can also apply these qualities to your team members. Our patients and their families require someone with compassion and the ability to empathise with difficult situations and be willing to go the extra mile to do what’s right by them.

We welcome the chance for you to see how the ward team works and encourage you to visit us as part of your application.

All positions offered and appointed are in full recognition and acceptance of these requirements.

We require HCSW to be able to complete venepuncture, cannulation, catheter care and ECG'S.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford, to save and improve lives.

As a large NHS trust we are committed to enhancing the health of our local population by delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with local authorities and key partners. We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and we’re always looking for people who demonstrate our three core values - care, appreciate and inspire – to join our team.

In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us you can also access a competitive benefits package, including, a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.
