One day you could be liaising with one of the world's largest airframers, and the next, some of the biggest airline brands around the world!

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Material Planner to join our procurement team. Based in Newport, in this role you will be accountable for the delivery of the immediate, short and mid-term supply plan in order to meet demands of our overall operational targets and deliveries, managing risks where applicable. You will be responsible for the overall communication, expediting and planning of material to satisfy production demands.

Key Responsibilities & Duties include;
Participate in the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) validation process, analysing
and processing exception messages (increase/decrease, progress, delay, cancel an order etc..) resulting from the MRP
Accountable for the supplier on-time performance for your defined group of suppliers, informing suppliers of discrepancies and providing resolution where applicable whilst working closely with our internal quality teams
Confirm and communicate requirements and changes resulting from the MRP to the supplier by confirming any necessary modifications that are to be made, communicate to internal customers where applicable, escalating where necessary
Issue the schedule agreements or purchase orders in line with ERP recommendations
Obtain acknowledgement from the supplier for any changes or modifications to
requirements
Negotiate dead-lines and quantities with suppliers within the limits of the contract
established by the Purchasing team (negotiation of dead-lines / quantities, but not
pricing.

Job Requirements

A good understanding of the workings of an ERP system and previous experience working within an ERP System particularly material planning
Production or material planning experience within a fast paced, high volume industry
Risk management experience including reduction and assessment of risks
Competent Microsoft user including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrable problem solving skills including execution and implementation of change process
Process Driven
Communication / Diplomacy
Team Player
